De La Salle Medallion for Excellence in Community Engagement

The De La Salle Medallion for Excellence in Community Engagement honors a faculty member who has demonstrated outstanding achievement in engaging Lewis students in community-based learning.

Nomination Criteria

Honorees will be faculty members who:

  • Actively and effectively engage students in the community, connecting learning and community engagement over the course of multiple semesters
  • Collaborate well with partners in the community and members of the Office of Community Engaged Learning
  • Demonstrate excellence in community engagement implementation as evidenced by feedback from students and community partners
  • Advocate for community-based pedagogy and course designation among colleagues and deeper understanding of community engagement throughout her/his respective discipline and college
