Arbor Day celebration is today

In celebration of Arbor Day, ȺpÎÞÂë in Romeoville will host an event from 2-4 p.m. on April 27 at the beginning of the Burnham Centennial Nature Trail near parking lots W and L. Highlight of the event includes removing invasive plant species from the nature trail and planting native trees along the nature trail to replace the invasive species.

Any and all able volunteers are invited to help in the effort to make ȺpÎÞÂë a more sustainable campus. All volunteers will receive a free “Going Green” T-shirt.

The event is sponsored by ȺpÎÞÂë’s Environmental and Energy Conservation Council.

ȺpÎÞÂë has been named a Tree Campus USA by the Arbor Day Foundation two consecutive years. The Romeoville campus has enough trees to also be considered an arboretum with programs available to dedicate a tree to a special person or cause. More information is available at the website: .
