Undergraduate Scholarships

Undergraduate scholarships are based on the student’s GPA from their previous school.  Scholarships can be awarded up to $18,000 per year.  The scholarship award will be automatically calculated after the student has submitted their online application and all required admission documents. 

The scholarship amount will be based on a 4.0 scale and the US equivalent GPA.  Students can use the services of to estimate the USA equivalent of their GPA.

Current Lewis students and alumni can nominate their Friends and Family to receive an additional scholarship. Current students are also eligible for .

Graduate student assistantships

Students enrolled in a graduate program are eligible for employment on campus – known as a Graduate Assistantship.  These part time jobs offer a small salary and a tuition reduction. Students cannot apply for the Assistantship job until after they have arrived on campus and registered for classes.  Assistantship jobs are not guaranteed for all Graduate students. 

Government Sponsored Scholarships

There are many foreign government sponsored scholarship programs for international students seeking to study in the United States. These programs vary widely by country and many focus on specific degrees, disciplines, or types of U.S. study. To find out if government sponsored scholarships may be available to you, contact your local office.

Independent Scholarships

There are some independent organizations like and the (Illinois Student Assistance Commission) who offer scholarships to international students studying in the U.S. Independent scholarships can also be found through additional research. 

International Student Loans

International students are eligible for international student loans, specialized private education loans. Learn more about international student loans . Some banks like Discover and Wells Fargo offer student loans to international students, but require a U.S. based co-signer. You can also search for international student loans .
