The Encounter is a monument and sculpture located near North Hall that is inspired by a pivotal moment in the life of Saint John Baptist de La Salle – the moment De La Salle meets Adrien Nyel at the convent of the Sisters of the Holy Child Jesus in Reims, France.  It was dedicated on April 30, 2019, the 368th birthday of Saint John Baptist de La Salle, in the tercentenary year of the completion of his earthly journey.
