OKTA FAQ


 1. What is OKTA and why should I setup my OKTA profile?

Ⱥp uses OKTA to provide the convenience of single service sign-on for our community users. OKTA provides the technology for you to login through myLewis portal and open the various resources without having to sign-in separately to each program. It is important to setup your OKTA profile, so that you can recover or reset your password easily.


 2. Where do I log in to get to OKTA?

To open OKTA, use any web browser to navigate to LewisU.Okta.com. Once you log in, click the OKTA User Password button. This page allows you to reset your password and setup your profile.


 3. Why do I need to set up a secondary email and a phone number for text messages?

Secondary emails and text messages are useful in case you forget your OKTA password. You can request a password help link be sent to your email address or to a cell phone text message. If you are accessing your Lewis email through OKTA, you will not be able to access the email that was sent. If you have provided OKTA with a secondary email address or cell phone number, then OKTA can send the forgotten password email to your secondary email address or cell phone messaging application -­‐-­‐ making it easy to access and reset your password. When setting up your secondary email or cell phone for text message you must go to your secondary email account and your text message application, find the email and the text message sent by Lewis/OKTA and follow the confirmation instructions.


 4. How do I change my OKTA password?

To change your OKTA Password, login to LewisU.Okta.com on a computer or mobile device. Then click the OKTA User Password button. Go to the Change Password section, and select Edit.  Enter Current Password, New Password and Change Password and click Save.

 5. How do I change my Security Image?

To change your security image, login to your OKTA on a computer or mobile device. Then click the OKTA User Password button. Go to the Security Image section and select Edit.  Select a new Security Image and click Save.

 6. How can I change my Forgotten Password question?

To change your Forgotten password question, login to your OKTA on a computer or mobile device. Then click the OKTA User Password button. Go to the Forgotten Password question section, and select Edit. Choose a new question and enter your answer and click Save.

 7. How can I change my secondary email address information?

To change your secondary email address information, login to OKTA on a computer or mobile device. Then click the OKTA User Password button. Go to the Personal information section and select Edit.  Enter the new secondary email address and click Save. You must go to your secondary email account, find the email sent by Lewis/OKTA and follow the confirmation instructions.

 8. How can I change my cell phone information?

To change your cell phone information, login to OKTA on a computer or mobile device. Then click the OKTA User Password button. Go to the Personal information section and select Edit.  Enter the new cell phone number and click Save. You must go to your text message application, find the text message sent by Lewis/ OKTA and follow the confirmation instructions.
